My Story...

I started thrifting and reselling vintage clothing in 2019. What began as a side hustle quickly became an education in fabrics, garment construction, and silhouette. Spending countless hours in thrift stores taught me how to recognize quality and potential in existing clothing.

Alongside this work, I earned a degree in journalism, with a focus on writing about fashion and sustainability. Researching and reporting on the environmental impact of the fashion industry deepened my understanding of overproduction and textile waste, and reinforced my interest in working with what already exists.

As my work in vintage resale progressed, the desire to create garments in the same spirit developed naturally. Four years into building my vintage business, I decided to teach myself how to sew. I learned by taking garments apart, drafting patterns directly on a bodice, making mistakes, and refining my process through repetition. This hands-on, self-directed approach has shaped the way I design—intuitively.

My work is rooted in the belief that there is already more clothing and fabric in existence than we need. I primarily work with secondhand textiles, reimagining them into one-of-a-kind garments.

This approach led to the creation of La Savant and my first collection, which debuted in September. My first collection, Undinė, is made using approximately 70% secondhand materials and is informed by vintage silhouettes that continue to influence my work. It reflects years of experimentation and self-taught practice, and marks a transition from reworking existing garments to developing original designs. My goal is to scale La Savant in a way that stays true to my core values. I hope you stay with me while I figure out how to make the designs from my collection purchaseable to all who love it. Right now I am just one girl taking it one day at a time... <3
